This post introduces the ABC technique of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that helps build awareness and self regulation of stress, anxiety, and depression by identifying and changing your “distorted thinking” and “self-sabotaging” behaviors. This starter exercise involves categorising your thoughts into three columns: a) the activating event or situation, b) your beliefs and thoughts, and c) the consequential feelings and behaviour.
